The Way of the Medicine Horse*

Grooming a horse involves much more than simply picking up a brush and clearing off dirt.

Conscious Grooming involves the discerning of the movement of energy through you as well as the horse you are interacting with. When you have the basic knowledge ‘in hand’ to sense the needs of the horse as well as the ability to come to the horse with your ‘own’ energy in balance a connection can be made which is helpful to all involved.

 

Horse Grooming 101 is a selection of lessons on the energy centers of both horse and human, the associated behaviors of the centers, the changing of behaviors as energy begins to increase flow, the movement of energy as the grooming process is completed and how to ‘read’ the horse as you groom.

 

This course is designed to prepare you to be able to communicate both non-verbally and without the use of ‘body language’ with horses as well as most other animals.

It is a preparation for healing work with and for animals.

It is a pre-requisite to volunteer directly with the Highfield Farm Medicine Horses.

It is an excellent prelude to learning the art of horse whispering.

 

Absolutely no horse experience is required!

 

This class will be offered from time to time throughout the year with more in depth classes added as required or desired.

 

Two students per session !

Classes offered Wednesdays and Saturday afternoons beginning in February.
